Schembri Insurance is on a mission to help Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan as they provide support for patients like Raiden, a 17-month-old named Raiden who is battling leukemia, and thousands of others throughout the state of Michigan who face a similar diagnosis. Raiden was diagnosed in August of 2016 and his family recently received news of new cancer growth.
Raiden was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and had been in remission for some time. He is currently receiving assistance from Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF). CLF is an organization that provides educational, emotional and financial support to families affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related disorders. CLF offers services such as a resource room to help families learn about cancer and issues that surround it and a resource kit with valuable information to help families throughout the journey toward recovery. Families also receive support from Patient Services Coordinators to help them emotionally navigate a blood cancer diagnosis and treatment, and financial assistance to support with reimbursement for things such as travel reimbursement, prescription costs, wig and head coverings and more. “Patients like Raiden, are in need of additional support and their family should be well educated on the proper steps to take and we want to help them through this difficult time.”
Disorders of the blood affect 11 new people a day in Michigan and are the 2nd leading killer of children and the second leading cancer killer of adults 55 and under.
